How was one man able to swipe right on hundreds of thousands of dollars? The Tinder Swindler is a documentary that tells the true story of a conman who used the dating app Tinder to meet women all over the world and scam them out of large sums of money. Simon Leviev pretended to be a part of the Leviev family, famous for their diamond business.

He would use the dating app Tinder to meet women and he would sweep them off their feet with extravagant first dates. Five star hotels, private jets, and luxury designer clothing was used to dazzle the women and convince them of his wealth. Then Leviev would love bomb the women and win them over with his attentive charm. But the lovable behavior would eventually stop as he was faced with some dangerous threat from his enemies. And how would he be safe again? By taking a loan from his girlfriend.

Too often when we hear these stories we think “that would never happen to me because I would never fall for that”. But The Tinder Swindler exposes the lengths that criminals will go to in order to make their scams seem legitimate.
